North Taranaki homeowner wins clean, green solar water heating
Urenui homeowner Marise Northcott is the proud owner of a clean, green solar water heating system worth $4,000, thanks to a winning entry in a competition from ENERGYWISE™.
Once installed, the LEAP SOLARGENIUS solar water heating system will mean big energy savings for the Northcott family. A well-designed and installed system will meet 50-75% of a home’s hot water needs using the sun’s free, renewable energy.
The new system will also produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions than the Northcott’s existing electric water heating cylinder.
“We’re really looking forward to having the solar water heating system installed,” said Mrs Northcott. “Anything that will lower our electricity bill, without impacting on the environment, has to be given an AAA+++!”
The Nash family will join the thousands of other Taranaki homeowners that have already switched on to solar water heatiing.
“We’re finding that solar water heating is very popular with rural property owners,” says LEAP Marketing Manager, Josie Skipper. “Taranaki has a good, reliably sunny climate as well, so SOLARGENIUS is well suited for this area.”

LEAP wants to thank everyone who came to the first LEAP Roadshow in Christchurch last week, it was a great success! LEAP also had a super time at the Home Ideas Centre Expo on the 15th and 16th May.
We ran a competition to go into the draw to win $200 worth of Westfield Vouchers and our winner - Kerry from Christchurch - is very happy to be off shopping!

Anyone is welcome at a Home Ideas Centre, to browse the 650 stands nationwide displaying everything to do with building, renovating and decorating.
The new LEAP stands in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch show off LEAP's key messages around using the benefits available in nature to help you out in creating a smarter home. LEAP Managing Director Jay Wester says that the new stands are well worth a look for anyone considering updating their water systems. "We have created a stand that visually demonstrates the technology we have available to homeowners today".

LEAP is pleased to announce a partnership with Community Housing Aotearoa to improve community homes with innovative, sustainable and environmentally responsible water and energy systems that deliver superior performance without costing the earth. Community Housing Aotearoa are the national umbrella organisation for the community housing sector. Their vision is to expand and strengthen the community housing sector.
Systems that LEAP will support Community Housing with, at discounted pricing, will include hot and cold water plumbing, solar water heating, heat pump water heating, home fire-sprinklers, grey water and rain water recycling, underfloor heating as well as energy efficient heat pump air-conditioners.LEAP designs energy and water systems for new and retrofit homes to ensure all components work together to ensure healthier homes with lower running costs. LEAP acquires new heat pump air-conditioning business
We are excited to announce we have recently acquired ROOM TEMPERATURE LTD, a heat pump air-conditioning business based in Wellington, New Zealand.
The new business will allow us to offer consultation on a wider range of heat pump products, including reverse cycle heat-pump air-conditioners, heat-pump water heaters and home automation systems.
These products provide excellent energy cost savings to homes and businesses – for example, a heat-pump air-conditioner can provide savings of up to 75% of the cost of running electric heaters. They are normally used where it is impractical and expensive to install underfloor heating systems.
LEAP understands the importance of the getting the right heating system for a home or business within budget. The acquisition of the new business allows us to provide right heating systems as well as taking care of installation and after-sales service for our customers.
