Meridian First Light house opens this weekend

The Meridian First Light house is officially opened from this weekend. This is your chance to check the amazing house out before it leaves to compete in the Washington DC Solar Decathlon in September.

This fantastic piece of architecture and design features all New Zealand suppliers and innovative products and solutions to create an advanced house - one that is designed to be extremely energy efficient in everything it does. You can head along to Frank Kitts Park on Jervois Quay in May and check out the photovoltaic panels, solar water heating, wool insulation and led lighting amongst other things.

LEAP is extremely proud to be involved and supply the First Light team with SOLARGENIUS solar water heating, THERMAGENIUS heat pump water heating, MANIFLOW advanced plumbing, BLAZESTOP fire sprinklers and a new solution especially for the house - an innovative hot water drying cupboard powered by free solar hot water.

To check out all of this and more head down to see the solar structure in action and get a tour from the team who have made it happen.
